loved working devon tower hooping up orders to the budd cars and the freights on the waterbury branch. The rdc 47 used to stop at store just north of division street crossing to buy oil to top off the engines . I bought my first house on the shelton side of the housatonic just so I could watch the trains co by from my deck. I remember sometime in the eighties the budd car got stranded between two washouts near turkey brook.
Emily , I once very much enjoyed the annual Fall Foliage train ride to Kent Ct; this was the NH's "Husking .Bee" train which was always a "Sold Out" event. When I first boarded the train' I had no idea where the train was going to , which made the trip more enjoyable and exciting. I marveled at the spectacular Fall scenery and the "Christmas Card" depots such as Cannondale on the Danbury Branch and Cornwall Bridge adjacent to the Housatonic River'
