    This was part of a series of ‘cutaway’ ads the New York Central ran during the war years to show the workings of the railroad.

    You can scroll through the rest of the magazine. So many of the articles and ads have a war theme, as was customary at that time.

    After the war, Pullman-Standard wasted no time advertising its new luxurious rail cars:
