April 10th will be I Ride the Harlem Line’s third birthday… Back when I posted about Mamaroneck I mentioned having a get-together at the Club Car when it opens. Well, according to The Loop, it is open! What better than to combine both things into one event? Although it sounds a bit strange to have a birthday party for I Ride the Harlem Line at an old New Haven Line station, but hey, we all appreciate history and a good train station, no matter where it is!

I would love to see you there! Unless I win the Mega Millions tonight, I unfortunately can’t buy you all food, so you’ll have to bring some money (sorry!). If you’re thinking about coming, either comment or shoot me an email (info@iridetheharlemline.com) so I at least have a rough idea of how many people will be showing up.

Damn, if only it weren’t at 5pm on a Sunday =/ I really wish I could come!

Not that the day before would have worked any better for me, the 14th is my darling boyfriend’s birthday.

You should still come anyway… I don’t think we’ll be out too late, I have to work the next day too :(

I’ll have to think about it, I was looking at the train schedules and return service to both Danbury or Naugatuck (I’ll be damned if I’m going to leave my car at Waterbury for any length of time) are both completely abysmal – I’d be getting home around midnight on both occasions – so I’d have to drive – and Google Maps puts it at an hour and a half – shorter than the train :)

PS, I like the new header, I guess nobody needs to harass you about procrastinating, eh?

Sorry I’m going to be missing this party! Work is shipping me off to Chicago that weekend…

Friday would be difficult, my roommate is quite excited to go to Mamaroneck, but she works a train until around 7pm at Southeast.

And yep, that is Mamaroneck. I picked that up at the train show I went to with Otto a few weeks back :D

    Hi Emily –

    Sounds great!

…I’d like to come…too bad Otto can’t make it…for me, any memorabilia on the New York Westchester & Boston would be far better than food…by the way, I have never seen a pic of the Mamaroneck station in its original location…the centenary appears under construction…inferring pre-electrification…this is indeed an old and rare pic…what year was that taken?

    Bye –
